I ended up tracking this one down after seeing it listed on Empire’s top 10 movies of 2012. There’s something about foreign films that reinvigorates my love for cinema and HEADHUNTERS (Hodejegerne) deserves to be on everyone’s list of films they need to see as soon as possible. It totally pulled me in right from the get-go, keeping me transfixed throughout. It twists and turns while serving up some pretty inventive violence, putting it up there amongst other rare gems from Norway such as TROLLHUNTER, RARE EXPORTS and DEAD SNOW.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Roger Brown, a powerful Norwegian headhunter who moonlights as an art thief to maintain his expensive lifestyle. Sure, he lives way beyond his means but who doesn’t in this day and age? Sadly things start to fall apart when he steals from the wrong guy and ends up running for his life from a sadistic madman who’ll stop at nothing to make sure Roger gets what he deserves.
